Welcome to BusinessPostings.us

...except now it's run by someone who isn't trying to scam you.

What Happened

If you got a letter saying you must pay $92.58 to stay compliant, take a deep breath.
This is a misleading sales tactic, not a government notice.

What the letter says:

  • "Your business is required by Federal Law to post a current compliant labor law poster"
  • "Failure to post required state and federal labor law notices can result in fines of nearly $40,000"
  • "UP-TO-DATE employment posters in the workplace"

What the law actually requires:

  • Only businesses with employees need labor law posters
  • The government provides these posters for FREE
  • You can download and print them yourself at no cost

The Truth

Here's what you actually need as a business owner:

Do you have employees?

Yes: You need posters.

No: You don't.

Don't Fall For This

Companies send these letters by the thousands hoping you'll pay out of fear.
It's not illegal, but it is shady as hell.

How to spot scammy business mail:

  • Official-looking but vague names

"Business Posting Department" sounds official but isn't a government agency

  • Urgent deadlines

Creating artificial time pressure to make you act without thinking

  • Threatening language about fines or penalties

    Scaring you with exaggerated consequences

  • Oddly specific amounts

$92.58 seems calculated and official (it's not)

Frequently Asked Questions

I received a letter and sent $92.58 — where's my refund?

Unfortunately, I can't issue a refund because I'm not affiliated with the company that sent the letter.

I purchased this domain — businesspostings.us — after the original sender let it expire, in order to warn others and help small business owners avoid getting scammed.

If you sent a payment, I recommend filing a report with:

I know it's frustrating. I got one of these letters too, and that's why I decided to take action.

Who are you, then?

I'm Dan Barker, a small business owner and web developer. I received one of these misleading letters myself and, after some research, found out the domain had expired — so I bought it and turned it into a public service instead of a scare tactic.

I do not sell posters. I do not accept payments. I'm just trying to make sure fewer people fall for what others did.

Can you help me file a complaint?

Absolutely. If you want help writing a refund request, a report to the FTC, or anything else — just shoot me an email at records@businesspostings.us and I'll do what I can.
